The simplistic language Essay Example For Students

The simplistic language Essay In Old Man, Old Man the juxtaposition of words like Lord, World authority and connoisseur with words like shamble and ramble emphasize that the old man is retreating from his talents in the adult world to an old frail man who now lives in a contracted world. His old talents have been exaggerated and given titles, like Lord, because they stress the old mans loss of aptitude and capability, and his subsequent failure to cope in the adult world. The reference to time, once, After supper and Now illustrate that this poem is about a transaction of time from what once was to what the man has now become. We will write a custom essay on The simplistic language specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now The phrase A man who did-it-himself is a pun on do-it-yourself, which highlights that the old man used to be able to do it himself, but now he cant. The use of the word cloud highlights that the old mans sight is failing and that he is diminishing from the capable adult world. It also suggests the frailty of the old man and that he has to rely on his daughter to help him. In Leaving School military sounding words like Inspection and the reference to the game Battleships displays how hard the mature world is and shows that you have to plan and be alert all of the time to survive. This emphasizes the fact that the boy in the poem cannot cope in school and because of that he cannot endure the adult world so he withdraws into himself and shies away from adulthood. The phrase Self-demoted in Old Man, Old Man also has a military sound to it as it resembles being demoted in rank. This phrase illustrates that the old man feels he has failed in the adult world but he doesnt want to be demoted into an incapable, dependent old man. In both poems the characters appear to be high-standard people at the start when they are nearest to the capable adult world. The boy is dressed in a grey flannel suit carrying a suitcase which resembles a businessman going to work in a suit and carrying a brief case. The old man is a connoisseur and is a World authority on glue. Nevertheless, the juxtaposition of these images with the characters incapability to cope in the adult world emphasizes their deterioration from the smart, qualified people they are in the adult world to their second childhood where they are helpless. The type of language in both poems is simplistic and colloquial with words such as jokes, dab hand, bed and leaving. This clearly demonstrates that both the boy and the old man are decreasing in competence. The colloquial feel of the language in the Williams poem indicates it is the boys own account of his time at school and gives it a trustworthy feel to it. The language in the poem is also emotive and evokes compassion and sorrow with words like forgot and phrases like miles away. The language in the Fanthorpe poem is also emotive and evokes pity and sadness as such words as shamble and helpless are used. The poems are made more emotive by the fact that they express a universal feeling of failing to be competent, especially in old age. The use of personal pronouns in Williams poem gives it a childish feel to it, which highlights the boys retreat into his second childhood. Also the colloquial language gives the impression of the poem being comprised of memories and thoughts that stress that the old man is recollecting when he was an able man in the adult world. .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41 , .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41 .postImageUrl , .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41 , .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41:hover , .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41:visited , .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41:active { border:0!important; } .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41:active , .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41 .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u569e7699e37bb36271f94fc912a94a41:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: How to Write a Controversial EssayThe simplistic language in both poems show that they arent embellished and show the crossroads of both people from being a capable person to an incapable person. However, the language in Fanthorpes poem is slightly superior to Williams poem as word like recalcitrant, contracted and surliness are used compared to words like fun, bed and game in Leaving School. The use of slightly more complicated language in Old Man, Old Man stresses that the old man is loosing his ability to use sophisticated words, and is retreating form the capable adult world. Both poems contain some repetition which reminds the reader of the sad situation which both the boy and the old man are in. In Leaving School there is repetition of the title leaving school which stresses that the boy wants to leave school because he feels trapped in a setting he is not secure in. In Old Man, Old Man there is repetition the title old man, old man, small and cloud. All of these words underline the insignificance into which the man is falling now he has left the independent world of adulthood. The Fanthorpe poem has no alliteration but the Williams poem has alliteration on s, producing a harsh sound in the phrase started saying which emphasizes that the boy is diminishing into a vulnerable individual, reliant on other people because he cannot face the harsh adult world. Both poems have enjambment throughout, however, the Fanthorpe poem is comprised almost completely of enjambment whereas the Williams poem includes less. The enjambment in the Williams poem is displayed in the lines She had my toothbrush in her hand/and she wanted to know why it was dry. The line Self-demoted in your nineties to washing up/After supper, and missing crusted streaks/Of food on plates; convey the enjambment in the Fanthorpe poem. The enjambment makes the regular looking verses irregular, which illustrate that the old man is confused in his present state of mind and is retreating. The enjambment also conveys the characters retreat from the capable adult world as it shows the steady decrease in the characters capabilities as each point flows on from another. The Fanthorpe poem has some caesuras, which accentuates to the reader that the character is declining away from the capable adult world. This is especially shown in the line And where is Drury Lane? Old man, old man,. The Williams poem does not have many caesuras, but most of the lines are end stopped, like They had the Beacon Series and I forgot how to get undressed, which conveys that the boy is unsure and falters trying to express himself like children usually do. Also, the use of simple conjunctions, like because and and, show that that boy is sticking to what hes knows best and is comfortable with, his childish way of thinking. The use of many conjunctions means that most of the sentences in the poem are very long and are typical of childrens writing, which also illustrates that the boy is retreating back into his second childhood. Leaving School and Old man, old man both have an authoritative female figure to guide the character and nurture for them. In the Williams poem there is a headmistress who keeps reminding the boy to do things and grow up and take responsibility. The headmistress is portrayed as a military figure who suggests to the boy to think of the timetable as a game of Battleships'. Her outward coldness is meant to compel the boy into adulthood but instead he retreats from it. In the Fanthorpe poem however, the daughter is illustrated as a compassionate, motherly figure who supports the old man during his retreat from the capable adult world. She loves his helplessness because it gives her a chance to help him and she asks the old man to Let me find your hammer. Let me walk with you to Drury Lane. , which shows that she cares about him. Both poems contain everyday actions like television, not good with daughters, leaving school and waiting. .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3 , .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3 .postImageUrl , .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3 , .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3:hover , .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3:visited , .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3:active { border:0!important; } .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3:active , .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3 .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u8b42bde3ac304fd943ea2f8766cd1cc3:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: A Clockwork Orange: Moral freedom is one of the most if not the most important of any freedoms available to humans EssayThis gives both poems a tragic feeling, which evokes emotion, as everyone feels that they will be like the characters in the poems one day. The last lines of both poems leave you sad and accentuate the failure of the boy and the old man to manage in their new environment. In Williams poem the last line, I was miles away with my suitcase, leaving school. displays a boy who is only physically present but whose mind is where he really wants to be, not trapped in an unfriendly environment. The last line in Fanthorpes poem gives a similar image. I am only a cloud also illustrates a man only there in physical form but whose mind is drifting off somewhere else to what he remembers when he was secure in the adult life. Both lines are open ended, which expresses the feeling of loss and failure in life which make the characters retreat. Overall both poems are similar in conveying the characters retreat from the capable adult world and each are emotive and successful in doing so.

Mr Adrian Nevuukke Essay example

Mr Adrian Nevuukke Essay example Mr Adrian Nevuukke Essay example Using examples explain why methods of coastal management vary from place to place. Coastal management is when you protect the coastline from flooding or erosion, to try and protect the coastline there are various techniques used to protect the coastline, for example: soft engineering and hard engineering. * Soft engineering- Soft engineering uses natural systems for coastal defence such as beaches and dunes which can absorb and adjust to wave and tide energy. * Hard engineering- hard engineering is protecting the coastline using man made structure, for example: groynes, sea wall and rip rap. Coastal management varies in different places because of various different reasons such as: geology, population, economic cost and SSSI etc. There are many reasons why the government and organisation choose to protect coastlines and there are also many reasons why they do not, in order to make the vital decision to save or to leave places they will use a cost benefit analysis which uses 3 factors to decide whether a place should be protected or not, social, economic and environmental factors is what is used to decide this. The government will also be offered with 4 options which will allow them to choose what happens in the coastline. The 4 options that they can use are: * Hold the line- this means keeping the coastline at its present position by maintenance and building coastal defences, such as: groynes, sea walls and drainage systems. Groynes are most likely to be in more economically, socially or environmentally beneficial * Advance the line- Define a line in the seaward directio n and build up to it by reclamation, for example: beach nourishment. This will also be used in environmentally, socially or economically beneficial places. * Manage retreat- Let natural processes slowly move the coastline back to a line which can be more readily stabilised. This technique will be used in less sustainable areas. * Do nothing- Let nature take its course so that, for example, coast erosion would not be fought, this will also be used in less sustainable areas. During the decision of choosing to protect a coastline or not the government will have to take all these factors on board. Coastal management varies from place to place for many reasons Firstly, one reason that coastal management can vary from place to place is because of the geology/ rock type of an area this can determine whether a place should be given coastal management or not. softer rock will erode more quickly than harder rock, this means the softer rock will need more coastal management because the rock is more vulnerable to erosion, softer rock is more vulnerable to erosion because softer rock because waves can easily eat way at the rock causing top cut notching, caves, arches and stumps. All of these coastal processes mean that the coast will erode more quickly, while on the other hand harder rock will not erode as quickly meaning it does not need as much coastal management, for example: the happisburgh coastline is eroding extremely fast one main reason for this is the clay cliffs which are very vulnerable to erosion and have very high erosion rates, on the other hand the white cliffs of dover/ Kent are not suffering from as much erosion as happisburgh / Norfolk on main reason for this Is the chalk cliffs this type of rock is much harder than clay cliffs meaning it does not erode as quickly, meaning the erosion rates are lower. Secondly, coastal management can also vary from place to place due to the population of an area, the population of an area can affect coastal management because highly populated areas will be at a higher priority than places with lower populations, this is because places with high populations have more life’s at risks and more to lose, for example: sea palling/ Norfolk has a population of 1372 from the 2011 census, this place is suffering from erosion and has lost approximately 150m in the last 50-100 years and even

Bluest Eye Essay

she besides retrieve how her sister usage to soothe her by singing to her. With that incident. she remembered that love was present. it is an understood though non straight expressed feeling. The MacTeer family had an add-on ; the first 1 was Mr. Henry Washington who lived with Mrs. Della Jones who already grew old and was left by her hubby who was believed to hold run off with another adult female. Another one is Pecola Breedloove. she is to be commiseration with because her male parent put their household house into ashes and now she’s under the country’s detention. Miss Breedlove. being a portion of the MacTeer household. loves to imbibe milk utilizing Shirley temple cup but Claudia expressed how she ever disliked the Shirley temple and the doll which has giver her as a present for Christmas. She tends to cognize why everyone thinks that the fair-haired doll is beautiful and where could its â€Å"beauty† be found. It was in the afternoon of Saturday when Pecola drank three quarts of milk and Mrs. MacTeer got huffy because of that. the sisters tried to avoid her when Pecola starts shed blooding. Frieda thought that Pecola was merely holding her menses and tried to put a tablet to the latter’s frock. Pecola so all of a sudden asked how babes are made. and so Frieda answered her that she has to happen person to love her first. It is on the Saturday forenoon of October. Mrs. Breedlove aftermaths foremost and started out a sudden explosion of action in the kitchen. Pecola is still in bed but she knows that her female parent will get down a battle with his male parent. The twosome battle between Cholly and his married woman became a everyday every after he gets home rummy. their boy Sammy would really either fall in the battle or run off from place while Pecola would happen a manner of how to stand the state of affairs. Mrs. Breedlove would inquire Cholly to convey her some coal for the range but Cholly would decline to make so and she says that one time she sneezing and gets cold from bringing the coal outside. so the hubby is in problem. Unfortunately Mrs. Breedlove sneezed so the battle started. The married woman would utilize a pan to hit her hubby so their boy would assist her female parent by hitting his male parents head. Once Cholly knocks out. Sammy would inquire his female parent to kill his male parent quick but so his female parent would hush him. On the contrary. Pecola still lies on her bed feeling sick. She even wishes she could merely vanish. She hates herself for her ugliness. her instructor and schoolmates would normally disregard her. She hopes for a blue oculus because she believes that that would do her expression reasonably merely like fair-haired Mary Jane pictured in the confect negligee. Pecola goes to see the cocottes populating above their flat. They are sort to her and would ever state her narratives about their â€Å"boyfriends† who are their clients. China. Poland. and Miss Marie are adult females who are non said to be a victim by their profession. they merely dislike work forces. They don’t experience ashamed of what they are. Pecola was so funny how it is likely to be in love or what love is like. She wonders if love is like her parent’s when doing love ; his male parent doing sounds as if agony in hurting while her female parent is quiet. The winter came when a new miss charmed the whole school. Maureen Peal has a cabinet next to Claudia’s and one twenty-four hours the new comer asked the MacTeer sisters if she could fall in them for walk place. The three misss saw Pecola who was harassed by a circle of male childs they bully her and tease her for holding a dark tegument. Frieda hit a male child and threatens the other. Claudia came in to assist her sister and it seems that the male childs where ready to give the sisters a battle but so Maureen arrived and looks like the male childs did non desire to contend in forepart of her and merely left. Maureen asked the misss if they wanted to hold some ice pick and tends to handle merely Pecola. Claudia on the other manus felt abashed and went on without ice pick. The misss started speaking about menses. Pecola was asked if she had of all time seen her male parent bare and answered that she ne’er did but Maureen continued the issue though the sister told her to halt. The misss argued and Claudia started on impeaching Maureen that the miss is a boy-crazy piece Maureen would state them that they are ugly and that they are black. Pecola was hurt and Claudia was alarmed that what the other miss said is a fact. When the misss got home. they saw Henry entertaining Miss Marie and China. Claudia and Frieda disliked it because they know that their female parent hated those misss. These cocottes come in after Mrs. MacTeer leaves the house. Frieda would inquire Mr. Henry about them but the latter would lie and state her that they are merely members of his bible-study group. A black adult female named Geraldine who was married to adult male named Louis has a kid named junior. Geraldine gives a existent first-class attention of junior physically but early on. the kid understands that her female parent is non capable of giving them fondness ; the adult female would demo fondness merely to cats. As a consequence to this. junior would torment a cat or make something probably to ache the animal. Junior would wish to play with inkinesss but his female parent would non let him to play with what they consider a Low-class or nigga. One clip when Geraldine was out Junior asked Pecola to play with him and promised the miss to demo her some kitty. Pecola was overwhelmed by the beauty of the house. interim. junior throw a cat into her face that scratched her. Pecola tried to go forth but so junior stopped him from the door. The cat begun to wish her and Junior was irritated that Pecola got the cat’s attending. Junior threw the cat and hit the radiator. the cat fell down lifelessly. Geraldine was back by so and saw the cat. on the other manus junior said that Pecola was the 1 who killed it and so Geraldine told Pecola that she was a â€Å"nasty small black bitch† . Now Cholly came home rummy once more finds Pecola busy making the dishes. With mix desires of tenderness and lunacy of fury. Cholly raped his ain girl Pecola. She so swoons and when she wakes up she founds her female parent gazing down at her. In Loraine’s black community a light-skinned who was raised from the West was â€Å"self declared reader so as an adviser† . he is Soaphead church. He planned to kill the Canis familiaris but every clip he tries he hesitates to travel near it. Pecola came to inquire Soaphead Church for bluish eyes. he understands Pecola and was touched by the child’s petition. He understand her through his ain attractive force to whiteness. he knows that he could non assist her but he told Pecola that she should give Bob. the Canis familiaris. a meat that he in secret poisoned. He said that if the Canis familiaris shows any reaction. her wants will so come true. The Canis familiaris that so ate the meat convulsed and earlier died. Pecola seeing the reaction of the Canis familiaris ran off. Meanwhile Soaphead remembers two kids who let him touch them in exchange of money and Sweets and wrote a missive to god stating that he had ne’er touched Pecola and that he Rivaled God for he had granted Pecola’s wish. It is besides said that she will non literally have her bluish eyes but because of the incident. she will believe she now does. Claudia and Frieda noticed that Pecola was inseminated by her ain male parent who had already run off. The whole vicinity was disgusted by that fact but some of them besides blamed Pecola. When her female parent Pauline found her. she hit her difficult. and beat her until she about loses her breath. The MacTeer sisters were sorrowed by the fact that none of the grownup at their topographic point seem to care for Pecola. In the contrary. Claudia made an thought on her head about how the babe looks like. She imagined that the babe with all the beautiful characteristics ; eyes. lips and tegument. They tend to assist hapless Pecola by praying for her and by giving a forfeit ; they plan to bury the money into Pecola’s house and they will works the remainder of the marigold seeds into their ain pace ( bookrags ) . Pecola started her lunacy and is ever conceive ofing that she has a new friend. Her fanciful friend would state her unfavorable judgments for looking at her ain image at the mirror ; Pecola would get down to inquire about how her eyes are so admiringly bluish and inquire her fanciful friend if her eyes are the bluest 1s. She thinks that all the people around her are covetous of her that’s why no 1 dares to look or gaze at her non even her female parent. Then Pecola’s friend would get down speaking about her male parent. and would state her that Mrs. Breedlove must truly lose her hubby really much because they are doing love a batch. The fanciful friend would impeach Pecola that she liked her father’s sexual progresss during the 2nd clip that Cholly raped her. Pecola got angry and decided to travel on to their first subject about her bluish eyes. Claudia and Frieda felt that they failed because their marigold seed ne’er grew and Pecola’s babe was born without life. Cholly died finally in a workhouse and Mrs. Breedlove and Pecola moved into a new topographic point. Claudia thought that it is the people who stand as the clime for a certain individual who tend to be the flower to bloom ( Toni Morrison The Bluest Eye ) . Citations: †Claudia and Frieda thought that it was because Pecola is holding her father’s babe that the seed of the marigold flower did non grow† ( p. 5 ) . This is when Claudia narrated her friend’s being pregnated by Pecola’s ain male parent ( novelguide. com ) . â€Å"Nuns go by every bit quiet as lecherousness. and bibulous work forces and sober eyes sing in the anteroom of the Grecian hotel ( p. 9 ) ( â€Å"The Bluest Eye† ) it explains that in the fall or the start of the narrative. the people are non who they are every bit said to be. â€Å"We stare at her. desiring her staff of life. but more than that desiring to jab the haughtiness out of her eyes and nail the pride of ownership that curls her mastication oral cavity ( p. 9 ) . â€Å" ( novelguide. com ) it is when Claudia stated how she hated Villanucci non because of the things that the individual possess but because of her attitude towards the societal position that she has. â€Å"It had occurred to Pecola some clip ago that if her eyes. those eyes that held the images. and knew the sights-if those eyes of hers were different. that is to state. beautiful. she herself would be different ( P. 46 ) ( novelguide. com ) . † Pecola believed that her life would be different if merely her eyes would turn into bluish. â€Å"She looks up at him and sees the vacuity where wonder ought to lodge and something more. the entire absence of human recognition-the glassy discreteness. † ( p. 48 ) ( novelguide. com ) it is when Pecola went out to purchase confect and the proprietor of the shop did non look to appreciate the beauty she has as a kid. â€Å"The line between colored and nigger was non ever clear ( novelguide. com ) ; elusive and revealing marks threatened to gnaw it. and the ticker had to be changeless. † ( p. 87 ) ( Toni Morrison â€Å"The Bluest Eye† ) This explains how Geraldine tried to conceal the existent visual aspect of junior by taking good attention of him and his true tegument tone. â€Å"She was secure and grateful ; he was sort and lively. † ( p. 116 ) ( novelguide. com ) . The storyteller stated how the twosome. Pauline and Cholly. went good at the beginning of their relationship. â€Å"She was ne’er able. after her instruction in the films. to look at a face and non delegate it some class in the graduated table of absolute beauty. and the graduated table was one she absorbed in full from the Ag screen. † ( p. 122 ) ( novelguide. com ) . Cloud Computing Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Cloud Computing - Research Paper Example Cloud computing refers to a new method of adding capabilities to computers through investment of hardware or infrastructures (Sun Microsystem, 2009). In this case, it does not acquisition of software, licensing or training programs of employees. In fact, it offers substantial business applications through the internet, which are accessed from a web. Web 2.0 involves application of Web technologies to the Web in a way that offers control to users through interactive visual presentation. Uses of Cloud Computing and Web 2.0 Cloud computing offers services accessed by businesses from different parts of the world. In fact, the cloud that is accessed by different users across the world is located at a single point to serve all customers and satisfy their needs. Cloud computing enables users and firms to access various software and storage services whenever they need them at a low cost; in fact, this form of deployment is called Software as Services (SaaS). Web 2.0 involves integration of W eb technologies in order to enable automation of a significant part of users’ action during the process of browsing (Guha, 2009). In this case, it enables direct embedment of target webpage into user browser, furthermore, Web 2.0 has facilitated technological advancements that enabled browsing the Web on small devices such as mobile phones, through reliance on Web API, Rich Site Summaries (RSS) and Atom feeds. Required Technology to Use these Tools Cloud computing and Web 2.0 requires infrastructure that entails reliable services that are offered through data centers and built on serves; in fact, these severs have different echelon of virtualization technologies (Handler, Shadbolt, Hall, Berners-Lee & Weitzner, 2008). Therefore, cloud computing require physical manifestation of data centers, whereby computing and storage is shifted from users’ device to a remote location having a large collection of serves, network equipment and storage systems. On the other hand, Clou d computing and Web 2.0 requires computing components such as CPUs and memory, which serves as recipients of two thirds of total energy consumed by servers. Benefits of Using Cloud Computing Setting up infrastructure for cloud computing such as acquisition of serves, data centers, database administrators is a role taken by services provides, users or business pay a price to access these services based on their usage (Sun Microsystem, 2009). Resources management and maintaining infrastructure is taken by the service providers, thereby making the processes of setting up simple. On the other hand, cloud offers increased reliability on network and data access, which is guaranteed and maintained by service providers. In addition, cloud computing offers a significant level of flexibility since data can be accessed from anywhere by users. Benefits of Using Web 2.0 Web 2.0 facilitates free flow of information among internet users, whereby they are able to share ideas and opinions about thei r business. Web 2.0 enables personalization of internet services based on different users’ needs and preferences. Real Estate Statistics Project Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Real Estate - Statistics Project Example The sum appears quite intimidating for a middle class citizen. However, the deal was easy for Sam as all he had to do was sell his own smaller 2-BDRM 600 square feet flat for US$135,000 and make up for the difference with the help of mortgage loan. When he had purchased it, the price amounted to US$70,000 which he had raised with the help of mortgage loan and paid up a couple of years ago. Fortunately for Sam, the person who purchased his old flat was foreigner who paid up the amount Sam was looking at without a murmur. Coincidentally, the one from whom Sam had purchased the flat he is now living in was also a foreigner who was in a hurry to sell as he was moving out of the United States. Thus, the principles in buying and selling of properties are intact although they may have slowed down a bit due to the current recession. In Sam's case, he saved a significant amount having purchased a second-hand flat in a premium location. A brand new flat in the same location would have cost him at least 25% more. One may have to pay the agent some commission. However, despite the commission, the overall saving is quite high when compared to purchasing a brand new flat. Normally, when someone purchases realty, he or she has long time plans in mind. Except for housing agents, few may opt for purchasing properties for business purposes. The normal consideration for purchase of property is residential or business. Then the property may remain in the hands of the owner for decades unless he or she plans to sell it earlier for some reason. Again, normally nobody thinks much about the market value of the flat because, as residents, they do not want to dispose the flat. They need the flat for their residential or business purpose. They cannot do without the flat as it fits their lifestyle. Thus, the market value only serves as a prestige issue rather than any profit or loss in business terms. Likewise, properties purchased for business too are not overtly influenced by market trends since the purchase is based on long term requirements. If a firm desires to purchase property for commercial use, it will by all means go by the trends of its balance sheet rather than bemoan the market trends. Chain retailers and eateries such as MacDonald have powered their presence through prudent use of real estate. Real estate is a magnificent method for conserving wealth for those who have the means to purchase property and develop and d'cor it. So if you are very rich, investments in properties will most probably make you richer. This is because when you are rich, you will invest in doing up the property and the environments and this will naturally add to the property's worth. Secondly, as people realize that you have purchased certain property in a certain location, they will readily buy adjacent properties pushing property prices in the process. For instance, if

The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst Essay Example for Free

The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst Essay Gaining from the ameliorate of ones disability, makes a person seem self-centered or conceited. The Scarlet Ibis, a short story by James Hurst tells the story of two brothers. Brother tells the story of his actions that contribute to his younger brothers death. Brothers pride is the main reason for Doodles yearly passing. This idea of pride, is a central theme in the story. Pride, a feeling of importance, merit, or superiority, can cause both positive and negative consequences. Moral integrity will destroy the career that took so long to build up. Brothers shame and embarrassment are forces that gave life to Doodle. Because Brother is ashamed of Doodles disability Brother tries to fix Doodle so that he can be pride of his brother. For example, when Brother learns that Doodle will not be able to walk, Brothers pride causes him to teach Doodle to walk. When Doodle said he could not walk, Brother replied, â€Å"Shut up. I’m not going to hurt you. I’m going to teach you to walk† (Hurst 346-347). Brother teaches Doodle to walk simply because he is embarrassed by his disabled brother. In fact Brother admits, â€Å"All of us must have something to be proud of† (347). Although Brothers reasons are selfish, Doodle is provided with a better life because of Brothers selfish actions. In addition, because Brother is so successful in teaching Doodle to walk, Brother feels even more pride in his accomplishments. Doodle explains, â€Å"I began to believe in my own infallibility† (349). Brother decided to teach Doodle to run, row, swim and climb trees. Certainly, if Doodle were capable of such things; running, rowing, swimming it would give Doodle a richer, fuller life. The same pride that gives Doodle life however, also steals his life. When the brothers go off to Horsehead Landing for a swimming lesson, a storm disrupts their plans. To escape the rain the brothers quickly head for home. Once Doodle slips and falls, Brother recongnizes that Doodle would always be different. Brother thinks, â€Å"He had failed and we both knew it. He would never be like the other boys at school† (352) The idea that Doodle is different continues to shame Brother. In fact, Brother is so ashamed that his actions cause suffering for Doodle. Brother abandons Doodle. Brother remembers, â€Å"The knowledge that Doodle’s and my plans had come to nothing was bitter, and that streak of cruelty within me awakened. I ran as fast as I could, leaving him far behind with a wall of rain dividing us† (353). At this point, Brothers pride is excessive and causes him to abandons his younger brother. When Brother finally went back he discovered his brother dead. â€Å"He had been bleeding from the mouth, and his neck and the front of his shirt were stained a brilliant red† (354). Brother pushes Doodle too far this time. His actions were helpful before where they were encouraging Doodle to have a better life, later they become so excessive Brothers pride pushes Doodle far beyond his capabilities. Brother pushes Doodle to the point that was not in his best interest. His pride causes destruction of his brothers life. A society cannot long exist without this sense of trust in each other, without some standards of truth. Lance Armstrong, a well-know cyclist and Tour de France seven time winner, was using illegal Performance Enhancing Drugs all while claiming honesty and integrity. Millions of fans putting their trust into him, having Armstrong play them like fools. Many children looked up to such an admirable athlete, showing them cheating to win is okay; then repeatedly lying about the actions Armstrong created. Moral integrity is beliefs regarding appropriate behavior in the right conduct. Lance Armstrong moral integrity is ruined. Armstrong thought it was morally acceptable to take Performance Enhancing Drugs while competing in the most prestigious cycling race. Lance Armstrong’s moral integrity ruined his career and also how people see him. Pride can be both a positive and negative force. Brother recognized this duality when he said, â€Å"Pride is a wonderful terrible thing, a seed that bears two vines, life and death† (347). Throughout the short story Brother stresses the duality, or the two sides of pride. It could of pushed Brother to do achieve greatness, but it became destructive when his obsession with helping Doodle pushed him to his early death. To have the public eye always watching Armstrong’s life, he should have know his behavior created a horrible moral integrity as a wellrespected celebrity.

Some useful Android tools are Android Network Toolkit(ANTI), DroidBox, AVD Clone, and Smart Pentest Framework (SPF). The tools that are covered can support in retrieving significant information and help out in criminal investigations. The Android Network Toolkit is very useful and effecient application tool. According to the website Hackers Online Club, "This app is capable of mapping your network, scanning for vulnerable devices or configuration issues. It is for use by the amateur security enthusiast home user to the professional penetration tester, ANTI provides many other useful features." Here are some of the features for Android Network Toolkit (ANTI): it provides an easier connection to visual sniffing, and open ports. Visual sniffing usually refer to retrieving Cookies and URLs. The ANTI application also allows the user to perform MiTM attacks, allows the user to exploit Server and Client Sides. MiTM is normally use in cryptography and computer security. MiTM is basically eavesdropping. The application also comes with password cracker which determines the security level's in a password. ANTI may also replace an image in Denial of Service attacks and demos. All of these features are parrt of the Android Ne twork Toolkit (ANTI). Another helpful application is the DroidBox. This purpose of the DroidBox is perfrom dynamic analysis of other Android applications. The application generates many useful results. These are the results when the analysis has ended: it shows the incoming and outgoing network data. It also shows the hashes for the analyzed package, the application does file reads and write operations. It provides inform... ...will also be integrated with existing tools. Some of those tools are SET , Metasploit, and mcuh more. Conclusion Data Reverse Engineering on smartphone can have postivie and negative effect. Many of the applications today were created because of Data Reverse Engineering. a postive effect is that application developer can use Data Reverse Engineering to create a similar or new app from an existing app. A negative effect would be the creation of an application that is used to retrieve certain data from an individual or application attack other devices. An application may also be created to support criminal investigation and other forensic related subjects. There are numerous amount forensic tools application for all type of devices. Overall, an application that is created to attack other devices is not always bad, it just depence on the who is using the application.
